Don’t overlook the safety considerations needed to protect your guests from harm. Wilson Rental can supply your life and safety rentals necessary to comply with local and national ordinances.

Exit doors
Two exits must be located within 100 feet of any point within the tent and must also be dispersed around the tent. Let our professionals help you determine the number of exit doors needed depending on your tent size and total occupancy.

Choose from the following different types of exit doors for your event:

Open area - Tent structures without sides are considered open area and therefore do not require an exit door.

Sliding - Tent walls are offered in solid, mesh, cathedral and clear sides. Sliding exit doors are solid sides placed as needed amongst the regular sidewalls and slide open on a track.

Commercial – These entry/exit doors add a sophisticated look when entering and exiting a tent or temporary structure. Choose from regular wood-framed double doors with a top half window pane, or upscale anodized metal frame double doors with full glass panels.

Emergency Exit Door - The Emergency Exit Door is built into an 8x10 side wall panel and attached by velcro. The door features pull handles, a glow in the dark emergency sign, and the choice of pushing or pulling to open.

Fire Extinguishers
The National Fire Protection Agency requires that portable fire extinguishers be placed accordingly in all tents. They must be hung or staged to keep them stable and visible and placed in required areas. You’ll also want to consider keeping a fire extinguisher close to each area that may be at risk for the flame spreading to table linens, centerpieces, presents, etc. We can help you be in compliance with our fire extinguisher rentals and planned placement in required areas.

Exit Signs
Exits must be marked clearly with signs. Code requires signs to be illuminated and powered from two alternate power sources. Wilson Rental can furnish you with Exit Signs with emergency power provided by a battery back-up.


No Smoking Signs
National Fire Safety Code states that smoking shall not be permitted in any tent structure, and that “No Smoking” signs shall be conspicuously posted. Wilson Rental can supply you with approved No Smoking signs to enforce this rule.


Aisle Width/Seat Spacing
Seating arrangements and aisle spacing shall be in accordance with the Uniform Fire Code and meet the approval of the Fire Marshall. Let Wilson Rental’s trained professionals help you plan out the required aisles and spacing between tables and seating rows.

Additionally, Wilson Rental can provide you with a site layout plan, including seating capacity and arrangement, exits and means of egress. We can also supply any required certifications regarding fire resistance/retardancy of all fabric materials.
